Two Azerbaijanis taken hostage by the Armenian servicemen in Azerbaijan's occupied Kalbajar region have sent letters to their families.

Employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited the Azerbaijanis taken hostage by Armenians for the second time on July 28.

"During the visit, the hostages were provided with information about their families and they also sent letters to their families," Spokesman of the ICRC Baku office Ilaha Huseynova said.

Three Azerbaijani civilians (Russian citizen Dilgam Asgarov, Azerbaijani citizens Shahbaz Guliyev and Hasan Hasanov) were detained by Armenian forces in early July while they were visiting the graves of their late relatives. Armenia violated the international legal norms by taking hostage the Azerbaijani civilians as they didn't violate any border law between Armenia and Azerbaijan. They were on their own native Kalbajar region.

ICRC Baku office reported that Hasan Hasanov was buried in Nagorno-Karabakh after being killed by Armenian forces.

Azerbaijan has urged ICRC to take serious measures to return the Azerbaijanis Dilgam Asgarov, Shahbaz Guliyev and the body of Hasan Hasanov.
