Azerbaijan improves position in UN's human development rating

Azerbaijan has improved its position in UN's human development rating. The country has moved to the 76th place among 187 countries in the rating.

Azerbaijan was at the 82nd position in UN's Human Development report in 2013.

The 2014 Human Development Report reads that the average life expectancy in the country, education level, health status, access to education, the gross national income and GDP per capita, and other data were taken into account while calculating the index.

"The average life expectancy in Azerbaijan is 70.8 years, and gross national income per capita is $15, 725," the report noted.

The top five countries in the Human Development Index include Norway, Australia, Switzerland, Netherlands and the U.S..
