UNDP launches Post-2015 National Consultations

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is scheduled to launch the second round of Post-2015 National Consultations.
UNDP holds the event in partnership with NAYORA (National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Republic of Azerbaijan), UNFPA and Youth and Sport Ministry, UNDP Baku office reported.
The goal of the second round of Post-2015 consultations is to learn what the Azerbaijani citizens think about the findings of the Post-2015 national consultations, held in 2013, and development priorities of the government, and their suggestions about the means of implementation of the findings.
The first consultation of this year will be held on June23 in Ganja, the 2016 European Youth Capital.
The target of consultation, titled "National Consultations in Post-2015 Development Agenda. Dialogue with Civil Society: Young People" is to ensure the participation of the youth who constitute one of the main parts of civil society.
This particular consultation will facilitate the discussion on the implementation mechanism of the findings of last year's national consultations, their deliberation and youth participation and their role in this process.
Although the target group is youth, the thoughts of the people from different fields of interest, ages and social groups will be listened to and considered.
The second round of Post-2015 National Consultations will be held in Guba, the 2014 Azerbaijan Youth Capital and in Baku in the format of a Model United Nations Simulation.
The first round of Post-2015 National Consultations was held last year. The national consultation process is aligned with the development priorities that are articulated in "Azerbaijan 2020: Vision to the Future" strategy document and UN Development Assistance Framework which guides UN programming activity within a five years period.
The evidence and suggestions generated by the people was synthesized at the validation workshop on 21 June 2013, co-chaired by the head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev and UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Antonius Broek.
