Conference of young scientists underway in Baku

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Institute of Information technology (IIT) of ANAS have co-organized a Research-in-Germany Conference for young scientists in Baku.

The conference was followed by "A first step to research" workshop which will be held for three days. More than 170 PhD students and young scientists registered for the event. The conference is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), AzerTag news agency reported.

The event aims to give an overview of the German research landscape and to give information on funding programs for researchers.

The conference started with welcome addresses by Rasim Alguliyev, Director of IIT and Mr. Wolfgang Mössinger, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Baku.

They stressed the importance of the event in building bilateral scientific cooperation and the development of young researchers.

Nicola Ukllish, Director of DDAD in Baku and Dr. Stroink from Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers addressed the event.

The workshop "A first step to research" will cover the issues like planning a research project, finding scientific literature online, and publishing research results, writing a research proposal, finding a supervisor in Germany, applying for a DAAD scholarship or research grants.

The participants will also get the opportunity to present their own research projects, discuss their projects with other young scientists, and meet German scientists working in Azerbaijan.

DAAD is the largest organization supporting the exchange of scientists and students worldwide. It establishes important international academic relations between Germany and the rest of the world.
