President Aliyev starts visit to Czech Republic

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has started his working visit to the Czech Republic.

President Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva headed to Prague on April 23.

A guard of honor was lined up for the head of state at the Prague Airport, which was decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

As part of the visit President Aliyev met Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic and head of the Czech Republic-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Jan Hamacek.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The parties noted that the expansion of the interparliamentary ties contributed to developing the Azerbaijan-Czech Republic cooperation.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views over cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

The Czech Republic recognized the independence Azerbaijan on January 8, 1992. Diplomatic relations between two countries were established in January 1993. Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic are interested in future development of mutual cooperation within UN, OSCE, NATO, EU and other international organizations.
