Two Azerbaijani soldiers were wounded as a result of the ceasefire violation by the Armenian armed forces.

Soldiers of Azerbaijani army Elmirad Gurbanalizadeh and Asim Guliyev were hospitalized immediately, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

Defense Ministry said Armenian armed forces once again broke ceasefire with Azerbaijan last night.

The armed forces of Armenia opened fire at the Azerbaijani forces near the villages of Yusifjanli, Shirvanli, Novruzlu, Bash Garvand, Kengerli, Shuraabad, Shikhlar in Agdam region and Kuropatkino in Khojavend region.

The Armenian armed forces have intensified the ceasefire breaches on the contact line of troops between Armenia and Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2014.

As a result of ceasefire breaches, several Azerbaijani soldiers were shot dead on the frontline.

On April 1, a soldier of the Azerbaijani army Akif Bakhshiyev was shot dead by the Armenian armed forces.

Earlier, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that ceasefire violations which have begun since January are mostly observed in Fizuli, Agdam, Terter, Goranboy, Khojavend, and Jabrayil districts. In all cases, the enemy's shooting was answered by retaliatory fire.

Armenia captured Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts from Azerbaijan in a war that followed the Soviet breakup in 1991. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and nearly 1 million were displaced as a result of the war.

Large-scale hostilities ended with a Russia-brokered ceasefire in 1994, but Armenia has continued the occupation in defiance of four UN Security Council resolutions calling for immediate and unconditional withdrawal.

Peace talks mediated by Russia, France, and the US have produced no results so far.
