Moscow hosts CIS Council of FMs
A regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of CIS states was held in Moscow on April 4, Azertag state news agency reported.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov attended the meeting.
The meeting was presided by Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey.
The ministers considered a wide range of questions of interaction of the CIS states in the field of international policy.
They discussed the course of implementation of the multilevel consultation plan within the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2013.
The council approved a number of draft documents in the humanitarian area which will later be submitted for consideration of the CIS supreme bodies.
The documents provide for the announcement of 2016 as the Year of Education in the CIS, support and development of national sports.
The next meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will take place in October, 2014, in Minsk.
