The Heydar Aliyev Foundation launched a joint project with the US-based Urban Alliance.

The Alliance specializes in supporting young higher school graduates through training and courses.

The project is the additional part of a charity project that started last year at schools for children with physical and mental disabilities in Montgomery County, Maryland, U.S.

A special ceremony to mark the start of the project took place in Urban Alliance's headquarters in Washington.

Addressing the ceremony, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the US Jamila Pashayeva-Seyidzade highlighted the goals and tasks of the organization she represents.

She also emphasized the extended activities of the Foundation under Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan, pointing to her attention to solving educational and youth problems in the country.

Speaking about the joint project with Urban Alliance, Pashaeva-Seyidzade noted that the Foundation will support three girls in their internship.

The event featured screening a film about the Foundation's activities.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the U.S. Elin Suleymanov highlighted the Foundation's achievements.

Emphasizing the projects aimed at enhancing women's role in society, he singled out the construction of a school for girls in Pakistan.

Suleymanov also described the joint project with Urban Alliance as important in terms of deepening the ties between the two countries.

Urban Alliance Board Chair Mary Zients, President Eshauna Smith, and Director for Strategic Partnership Meaghan Woodbury spoke about the activities of the organization and said they were confident that cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation would be successful.
