Even on February 26, when Azerbaijani people were mourning for the victims of the Khojaly genocide, Armenians showed their worst trait once again.

Violating the ceasefire at 15:30, the Armenian armed units fired on the positions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces and killed the serviceman of the Azerbaijani Army, the Defense Ministry said.

Azerbaijani Armed Forces' junior sergeant Nohbalayev Karam died as a result the attack when he was on a combat mission.

Sergeant Nohbalaev was awarded the medal "For Distinguished Military Service" of third degree (posthumously) under the Order of Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.

The Defense ministry expressed its deepest condolences to the parents and relatives of the deceased.

In early February the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs visited Baku and Yerevan and discussed the settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Azerbaijani and Armenian leaderships.

The sides agreed to respect the ceasefire regime during the Olympic Games in Sochi, but the Armenian side violated their commitment by killing the Azerbaijani serviceman with a sniper.

Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s. Long-standing efforts by US, Russian, and French mediators have been largely fruitless so far.

As a result of Armenia's military aggression, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, 4,866 were reported missing, almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.

The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
