Karabakh research center opens in Baku

A Karabakh research center, which will play a very important role in the study of the culture and history of the Azerbaijani region of Karabakh, currently occupied by Armenian armed forces, was opened at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan in Baku on October 4.

During the opening ceremony of the joint project of the Academy of Public Administration and the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh, chairman of the coordinating council of the community, Orkhan Akbarov, spoke about the idea establishing the center and the challenges ahead.

The ceremony was attended by the head of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh Bayram Safarov, rector of the Academy Urkhan Alekperov, head of the political analysis and information provision department at the Presidential Administration, Elnur Aslanov, Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) under the President of Azerbaijan, Farhad Mammadov, MP Ganira Pashayeva and other officials, MPs and experts.

The attendees noted the importance of such a center and wished success in its activity.

The facility, which is a research center for scholars and professionals who will work in this field, will play a very important role in comprehensively and objectively informing the world community.

The purpose of the center is to create suitable conditions for research by a number of local and international experts, as well as for the implementation of projects of international significance jointly with research centers of other countries.

An electronic library has been established in the center as well.

The event was also attended by ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan, representatives of international organizations, as well as men of science.
