Armenian border violator handed over to Azerbaijani Defense Ministry

An Armenian soldier, who crossed into the territory controlled by Azerbaijani Armed Forces, has been handed over to the Defense Ministry.
Secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Shahin Sailov told Trend news agency on August 10 that the Armenian serviceman, who was captured while trying to pass the part of the contact line controlled by the Azerbaijani Army was brought to Baku and handed over to the Defense Ministry.
According to Sailov, a meeting will be organized between that person and the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) this week. The ICRC members will determine whether he wants to return to Armenia or to depart to a third country.
Sailov noted that the Armenian servicemen got lost and crossed into the territory controlled by Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He did not hold any document, but his surname was found out -- it is "Injigulyan".
Meanwhile, the Armenian media reports said that the soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces, Akop Gevorkovich Injigulyan, 22, got lost in the early hours on August 8, and found himself in the territory controlled by Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
Recall that earlier the Azerbaijani armed forces detained two Armenian citizens crossing the Line of Contact in March and handed over the detainees to the state commission on POWs.
A precarious ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia was reached after a lengthy war that displaced over a million Azerbaijanis and has been in place between the two South Caucasus countries since 1994. Since the hostilities, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenia's withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
