Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey have been built on mutual trust, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alper Coskun said during his speech at the international conference "Role of entrepreneurship in social and economic development: Turkish-Azerbaijani experience" which started in Baku on June 3, 2013.

He noticed that the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan are at a very high level both in the political and economic fields.

"Despite the difficult economic situation in the partner countries, Turkey's foreign trade demonstrates the dynamic growth in recent years," said Coskun. "For example, Turkey's service exports increased to $200 billion in 2012. Despite the global economic crisis, economy of Turkey and Azerbaijan has developed in recent years."

According to statistics, Turkey's investment in Azerbaijan amounted to $6.5 billion and Azerbaijan's investment in Turkey reached $4 billion, and these processes continue uprising, he added.

Addressing the conference Samir Valiyev, administration head at the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, said Azerbaijan plans to double GDP by 2020 and it will be achieved through the non-oil sector.

According to him, private enterprise will play a huge role in achieving the goals.

"Azerbaijan will investigate Turkish experience in this area," Valiyev said.

In turn, President of the Azerbaijani National Confederation of Entrepreneurs' (Employers') Mammad Musayev said more than 1,000 Azerbaijani companies are working in Turkey and their number will increase. .
