Azeri leader visits Uzbekistan’s Senate

BAKU – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan, toured the building of the upper house of Uzbek Parliament - the Senate on Monday, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov told Ilham Aliyev about the building, its national and modern styles.

The building was built three years ago. The Senate of the Uzbek Parliament is represented by one hundred members. Laws adopted by the Supreme Majlis of the country are sent to the President for approval only after their approval by the Senate.

Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions established here for the senators.

President Aliyev also visited the reconstructed Azerbaijan National Cultural Centre.

The center in the avenue named after the Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev is a symbol of friendship between the two peoples and their common roots.

Aliyev also visited the museum named after Heydar Aliyev.
