Armenian militaries kill Azerbaijani soldier
Azerbaijani serviceman Amrah Yuzbekov was killed as a result of shootout on the line of contact between the troops of Azerbaijan and Armenia on May 3, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry reported.
The ministry has extended condolences to the family and friends of the killed soldier.
Armenia's criminal military and political leadership bears the responsibility for the incidents on the line of contact, the ministry stressed.
Azerbaijan and Armenia have been locked in conflict for over two decades. Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that sparked a lengthy war in the early 1990s. The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal, but they have not been enforced to date.
