The Armenian armed units shattered ceasefire with Azerbaijan a total of 15 times throughout the day, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry reported on November 23.

The Armenian armed forces, stationed in Armenia`s Shavarshavan, Voskevan and Dovekh villages in Noyemberyan region subjected to fire the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces located in Farahli, Gushchu Ayrim, Kamarli villages and nameless hills in Gazakh region.

The ceasefire was also violated in Chilaburt village in Tartar region, Kuropatkino village in Khojavand region, as well as nameless hills in Goranboy, Tartar, Khojavand and Jabrayil regions.

Azerbaijan and Armenia for over two decades have been locked in conflict, which emerged over Armenian territorial claims. Since the 1990s, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions.

Armenia ignores four UN Security Council resolutions on immediate withdrawal from the occupied territory of Azerbaijan, thus keeping tension high in the region.
